Too Hot to Trot

The other night I was invited to a Japanese dinner party for a friend of a friend's friend who is soon returning to Japan. To be surrounded by effortlessly amazing fashion, great food, and some of the tiniest cameras and electronics that I have ever seen was expected. But when few of the couples allowed their children to tag along to the fancy soiree, never before had I seen such a fashionable group of babies and toddlers in one place. There were assymetrical mohawks, huge bleached tipped afro's, camo fatigues, and cartoon grafetti trousers. Babies sporting the "hipster sag" with denim that showed off their patterned boxers underneath. It was a refreshing change from the boring JCrew and Gap babies that often accompany a even more fashionless set of parents. Creativity is a timeless expression that one is never too young to express.
